Following his conviction in the recorder’s court for the city of Detroit on a charge of robbery not armed, the appellee Anthony Casella was, on March 30, 1939, sentenced to the State prison for southern Michigan at Jackson for not less than 6 nor more than 15 years. He remained in the institution until May 5, 1944, at which time he was released on parole for a period of two and one-half years.
