Miguel Cardenas pled guilty to possessing an unregistered firearm in violation of 26 U.S.C. § 5861 (1982). He was sentenced pursuant to the United States Sentencing Guidelines to serve twenty-one months imprisonment followed by a three-year term of supervised release.
