The plaintiff, Allen Dawson, filed a complaint against his employer, the defendant Elgin, Joliet & Eastern Railway Company. Plaintiff alleged the defendant acted negligently under the Federal Employers’ Liability Act (FELA), 45 U.S.C. § 51 et seq. (1990), by failing to advise him of the lack of uninsurance / underinsurance coverage on his company car.
