RAND, J:

Plaintiff, a woman over seventy years of age, while crossing Twelfth street at its intersection with Morrison street in the city of Portland and while upon a regular pedestrian crossing, was run into and injured by an automobile belonging to defendant. The automobile was being driven by defendant’s son, who was less than sixteen years of age and was operating the automobile in violation of law. The defendant was not present at the time.
