Following an incident in which the defendant, Daniel Cook, allegedly threatened another person with a table leg, a jury found him guilty of carrying a dangerous weapon in violation of General Statutes §§ 53-206 (a) 1 and 53a-3 (7). 2 The trial court rendered judgment in accordance with the jury verdict, 3 and the defendant appealed. 4 On appeal, the defendant claims that (1) the trial court improperly failed to instruct the jury that the state was required to prove that the defendant’s use or threatened use of the table leg constituted a “true threat,” that is, a serious…
