The defendant, Patrick Chasse, appeals from the judgment of conviction, rendered after a jury trial, of arson in the first degree in violation of General Statutes § 53a-lll (a) (1), arson in the second degree in violation of General Statutes § 53a-112 (a) (1) and attempt to commit assault in the first degree in violation of General Statutes §§ 53a-49 (a) (2) and 53a-59 (a) (1).
