On January 3, 1986, following a jury trial in the Bay Circuit Court, defendant was convicted of third-degree criminal sexual conduct, MCL 750.520d; MSA 28.788(4). Subsequently, defendant pleaded guilty to a charge of being an habitual offender, third offense, MCL 769.11; MSA 28.1083, and was sentenced to a term of eleven to thirty years in prison.
