This is an appeal from the denial of the plaintiff’s motions for directed verdict and judgment notwithstanding the verdict in a civil action brought under G. L. c. 272, § 99 Q (1986 ed.). We transferred the case to this court on our own motion. We affirm.
The undisputed relevant facts are as follows. On or about April 13, 1978, University of Massachusetts Medical Center in Worcester received a series of telephoned bomb threats.
