The plaintiff, Broadway Finance, Inc., a corpora*477tion, brought this action to recover the amount of five checks drawn by the defendants, Avis Tadorovich and Dan Tadorovich, doing business as Highway Appliance Co. In their answer defendants alleged as an affirmative defense that the checks had been paid. The case was tried before a jury which returned a verdict in favor of defendants. From the judgment entered on the verdict, the plaintiff has appealed.
