A single issue is presented for consideration: Did the plaintiff sustain a personal injury by accident arising out of and in the course of his employment caused by violent or external means? We must determine whether or not there was sufficient evidence to go to the jury upon that issue. The plaintiff had been regularly employed in a sawmill, his usual work being that of an off-bearer. But from August 21, 1940, to and including August 24th he was engaged in firing the boiler at the mill.
