LASKER, District Judge.

Defendant John Mayer moves for judgment notwithstanding the verdict or, in the alternative, for a new trial. The motion is denied. 1

In these two consolidated actions brought under 42 U.S.C. § 1983, plaintiffs Nancy Velez and Robert Greene Jr., as administrator of the estate of Robert L. Greene and on behalf of Latisha and Lisa Greene, sued two New York City police officers, John Mayer and Carol Esserman, for violations of their civil rights.
