Appellant Lance Alan Branscum appeals the order of the Pulaski County Circuit Court convicting him of capital murder in the death of Julie Irmer. On appeal, Appellant argues that the trial court erred by: (1) denying his motion for a directed verdict; (2) admitting his custodial statement, because it was not given voluntarily; and (3) admitting certain photographs of the victim, because their prejudicial effect outweighed their probative value. Appellant was sentenced to a term of life imprisonment; hence, our jurisdiction is pursuant to Ark. Sup. Ct. R. 1-2 (a) (2).…
