This original proceeding arises from an action in the Sixth District Court of Lamar County where the real parties in interest, the insureds, have alleged breach of contract, bad faith, and violations of the Texas Insurance Code and Deceptive Trade Practices Act following a denial of a claim on a homeowners’ policy after a house fire. Relator, Texas Farmers Insurance Exchange (Farmers) is the defendant in the action and has petitioned this Court for a writ of mandamus ordering the respondent judge, Honorable Jim D. Lovett, to withdraw an October 15, 1998 order…
