This action was brought by the respondent to recover from the appellant the sum of $256.05, with interest at the legal rate from September 9, 1899, for services alleged to have been rendered by the respondent to the appellant in procuring the firm of Schmitz & Anderson to purchase from the appellant a bill of goods, the appellant being a wholesale liquor merchant, doing business in the city of Seattle.
