Moran sued Campau to recover the price of certain piling which he testified was done by hitn under a special verbal contract for the price of two hundred dollars, he himself to be the judge of its sufficiency. Having given evidence of the contract and of its performance on bis part, he was then asked by bis counsel wbat was tbe value of the timber used.
