This appeal stems from the lower court’s order granting a motion for summary judgment in favor of the defendants-appellees, Dr. Thomas Cahill and The Geis-inger Medical Center, a private hospital located in Dan-ville, Pennsylvania. Viewing the facts in the light most favorable to the appellant, as we must for purposes of *269this appeal, Gast v. Petsinger, 228 Pa.
