This was an action on the case commenced in the circuit court of Will county by the appellee, against the appellant, to recover damages for the loss of two fingers, which were severed from the appellee’s right hand while he was at work with a circular saw in the shop of the appellant. The jury returned a verdict in favor of .the appellee for the sum of $4000, upon which the trial court rendered a judgment in favor of the appellee for $3000, after requiring a remittitur of $1000 from the amount of the verdict, which judgment has been affirmed by the Appellate Court for the Second District, and…
