Plaintiff sued to recover damages for injuries to a shipment of cattle which he delivered to defendant at Spokane for transportation to Republic during the month of November, 1927. In his complaint, plaintiff alleged that defendant was negligent in caring for the cattle, subjected them en route to unnecessary delay, exposed them unnecessarily to cold, wind and rain, and handled the cattle roughly, from which causes the animals became sick and suffered physical injuries, as a result of which some of the cattle died and others were greatly depreciated in value.
