Defendant, George Taylor, was convicted in the Circuit Court of Buchanan County of having attempted to corrupt a "summoned" juror, was sentenced to pay a fine of $500 and has appealed. The offense charged and of which defendant was convicted is a felony, hence our appellate jurisdiction. The information charges violation of Section 3888, Revised Statutes 1929 (Mo. Stat. Ann., p. 2744), which makes it a crime to corrupt or attempt to corrupt any person "summoned or sworn" as a juror.
