George v. Reynolds

J. B. George died in Shackelford county, Tex., January 17, 1931, leaving an estate in personal property valued at $7,500. He willed the property to two orphan homes and appointed A. W. Reynolds independent executor of his estate. The executor probated the will. Mrs. Helen George, the surviving wife of the deceased, filed an application in the probate court asking a widow’s allowance in lieu of homestead, etc. Such an allowance was made by that court, and the executor appealed to the district court.
