On August 2, 1933, the Superintendent of Insurance was directed to take possession of the property of Lawyers Mortgage Company for the purpose of rehabilitating it. By virtue of this order he was authorized and directed to take such steps toward the removal of the causes and conditions which had made the rehabilitation proceedings necessary ‘ ‘ as the court shall direct ’ ’ (Insurance Law, former § 402).
