The defendant was convicted of rape and abuse of a child without force in violation of G. L. c. 265, § 23 (1984 ed.). The defendant appeals from the Superior Court judge’s denial of his motions for a new trial. We conclude there was no error, and affirm the judgment.

The victim, fourteen years old at the time of trial, lived with her mother and the defendant, who was the mother’s boy friend. The victim testified that on several occasions when her mother was at work the defendant had taken her into the bedroom and had sexual intercourse with her.
