After a jury trial, Matthew Andrew Carter, also known as William Charles Harc-ourt or Bill Carter, appeals his convictions for one count of travel in foreign commerce for. the purpose of engaging in a “sexual act” with a minor, in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 2423(b); four counts of travel in foreign commerce for the purpose of engaging in “illicit sexual conduct” with a minor, in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 2423(b) and (f); and one count of attempting to travel in foreign commerce for the same later purpose, in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 2423(e). 1 After review of the record and…
