MEMORANDUM OPINION

VAN TATENHOVE, Judge.

Defendant Chris Christman plead guilty to manufacturing over five grams of methamphetamine in violation of 21 U.S.C. § 846 and possession of a listed chemical knowing it would be used to manufacture methamphetamine in violation of 21 U.S.C. § 841(c)(2). Because these drug offenses carry maximum penalties of ten years or more in prison and the United States refused to recommend that no term of imprisonment be imposed, he is subject to mandatory detention under 18 U.S.C. § 3143(a)(2).
