Plaintiff brings this action under the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 (ERISA). § 502(a)(1)(B), 29 U.S.C. § 1132(a)(1)(B). Plaintiff alleges a wrongful termination of long-term disability benefits under a plan administered by the defendant, Metropolitan Life Insurance Company. There are two issues that must be decided. First, the standard to be used to review the denial of benefits must be determined. Secondly, using the appropriate standard of review, it must then be determined whether the plaintiff was wrongfully denied payment…
