As is seen from the record, the “Springfield Savings Bank” was incorporated by a special act of the General Assembly, approved February, 1867. It seems its capital stock was $100,000, and was divided into shares of $100 each. The charter of the corporation was amended by an act of the legislature, passed April 11, 1869, which amendment contained the following provision: “That the stockholders of said corporation shall be responsible in their individual property in an amount equal to the.amount of stock held by them, respectively, to make good all losses to depositors or others; and no…
