The D. A. Dobry Securities Company was an Iowa corporation, of which the defendant was the president. For the purpose of securing permission to issue additional securities, on the 27th day of January, 1931, the defendant signed and verified a written statement filed with the secretary of state, the substance of which was to show thejfinancial condition of said corporation at that time, and it is as to statements made in such writing, which were false, that this accusation was brought.
