These appeals are from judgments entered by the court below for want of a sufficient affidavit of defense in actions of scire facias upon a municipal claim filed under the provisions of the Act of June 4, 1901, P. L. 364, and the amendments thereof.

Viewers were appointed, under the provisions of the Act of May 16, 1891, P. L. 75, and the supplements and amendments thereof, to ascertain the costs, damages and expenses and to assess the benefits, arising from the grading, paving and curbing of Greensburg Avenue, in the borough of East McKeesport.
