The widow of Alberta Udey brought this action for the benefit of herself and her children to recover damages for the death of her husband, alleging in substance that the defendant city owned, conducted and operated for profit an electric-light plant and waterworks system; that it had more than fifteen workmen continuously in its employment in that line of business and had not elected to come within the provisions of the workmen’s compensation act (Laws 1911, ch. 218) ; that the deceased was in the employment of the defendant, and one Welfelt…
