OLIVER, Judge:
A military judge serving as a special court-martial convicted the appellant, pursuant to his pleas, of a 2-day unauthorized absence and larceny of a set of stereo speakers, in violation of Articles 86 and 121, Uniform Code of Military Justice, 10 U.S.C. §§ 886 and 921 (1994)[hereinafter UCMJ], respectively. The military judge sentenced appellant to 4 months confinement, reduction to the lowest enlisted pay grade, and a bad-conduct discharge.
