Petitioner, the widow of the late Judge Joseph G. Gorman, former Judge of the Superior Court in and for the County of Los Angeles, seeks to compel the respondent Controller of the State of California to approve her application for benefits as the widow of a retired judge pursuant to the provisions of the Judges’ Retirement Law. (Gov. Code, §§ 75000-75108.)
