This action was brought by appellee against appellants and the Cairo, Vincennes and Chicago Railway Company jointly, for the recovery of damages resulting from personal injuries alleged to have been received through the negligence of said defendants. The original declaration consisted of one count, which charged, in substance, that the Cairo, Vincennes and Chicago Railway Company (hereinafter designated for brevity as the Cairo Company) owned a railroad extending from Cairo, Illinois, to a point near Tilton, Illinois; that the Cleveland, Cincinnati, Chicago and St. Louis Railway Company…
