Plaintiff Marion Aldrich works as a policy analyst in the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Office of the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response. She is 57 years old and has long been diagnosed with and treated for Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD). Her otherwise uneventful 20-year stint in government service was upended in February 2012 when she began reporting to a new, younger supervisor, Serina Vandegrift.
