Plaintiffs brought this action claiming that defendant Federal Energy Regulatory Commission ("FERC") and its Commissioner, defendant Cheryl A. LaFleur, violated the Religious Freedom Restoration Act ("RFRA"), 42 U.S.C. §§ 2000bb, et seq. by issuing an Order authorizing defendant Transcontinental Gas Pipeline Company, LLC. ("Transco") to forcibly take and use land owned by the plaintiffs as part of an interstate fossil fuel pipeline, known as the Atlantic Sunrise Pipeline (the "Pipeline").
