This is an action brought in the name of Alvin J. Rosenfeld (who, at the time in question, was an employee of, and a bailee of diamonds belonging to, H. Witsenhuysen & Sons, Inc. and Ever-Love Diamonds, Inc. — -New York corporations) against Continental Building Operating Company for $31,198.80, the value of certain diamonds belonging to H. Witsenhuysen & Sons and Ever-Love Diamonds, Inc., but in the possession of their employee, Alvin J.
