[¶ 1.] Defendant was found guilty by a jury of criminal pedophilia and sexual contact with a five-year-old child. He later pleaded guilty to being a habitual offender. He was sentenced to the penitentiary. On appeal, defendant contends that the trial court abused its discretion in denying his motion to have his psychological expert interview the child. When the investigation began, an independent forensic examiner interviewed the child and later testified as an expert for the prosecution.
