The defendant, James J. Siano, was charged in an information with the crimes of burglary in the second degree in violation of General Statutes § 53a-1021 and larceny in the second degree in violation of General Statutes § 53a-123.2 The charges arose *275out of a burglary that occurred in the evening hours of May 25,1986, at a residence located at 2 Lois Lane in Enfield while the family was away.
