The five plaintiffs in this action are all inmates who were, at the time the suit was filed, incarcerated at the Allendale Correctional Institution (ACI), a part of the South Carolina Department of Corrections (SCDC). Plaintiffs alleged in their complaint that they were the victims of discrimination based on their religious beliefs. All five of the plaintiffs are practicing Muslims.
