The primary question presented on this appeal is whether the trial of a defendant in a paternity proceeding, pursuant to article V of the New York City Criminal Courts Act, constitutes jeopardy within the purview of the State Constitution (art. I, § 6), thus barring his prosecution in a subsequent proceeding with respect to the same child.
