The Farmers’ National Bank, as plaintiff, commenced this action in the trial court to recover the amount of three promissory notes for $185.60 each, bearing 10 per cent, interest from June 1, 1912, executed by Mattie Hartoon, C. B. Hartoon, E. J. Dickerson, snd W. J. Carson, payable to the order of F. M. Redding. The plaintiff alleged in its petition that it was the owner and holder of said notes in due course; that they were past due, and no part thereof had been paid It is further alleged that a real estate mortgage had been executed by C.
