Appeal from a judgment of the County Court of St. Lawrence County (Nicandri, J.), rendered August 3, 1987, upon a verdict convicting defendant of the crime of assault in the second degree.
On August 7, 1986, defendant and Jose Carrasquillo were inmates at Ogdensburg Correctional Facility in St. Lawrence County when, according to the latter, defendant attacked Carrasquillo in a shower stall, striking him and cutting him with a razor blade, leaving him with a lacerated hand and cheek, and a fractured nose.
