In a prosecution for the illegal possession of less than 30 grams of a substance containing cocaine, a controlled substance (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1989, ch. 56V2, par. 1402(a)(2)(A)), the State appeals an order suppressing statements made by defendant, James D. Laspisa, before and after he and three other individuals were arrested by officers of the Elmhurst police department.
