The plaintiffs commenced this action to obtain damages allegedly sustained by them as a result of an automobile accident. Their complaint, directed against the defendant, Jesse Earl Pearson, hereinafter referred to as Pearson, contained appropriate allegations of negligence, proximate cause and damage. The defendant Pearson answered denying the allegations in the complaint; alleged contributory negligence on the part of the plaintiff Robert F.
