This is an appeal by the plaintiffs from an order by the district court in a civil rights case finding unlawful employment discrimination but denying relief. Thirteen named plaintiffs, twelve blacks and one white, all employees of Timken Roller Bearing Company (herein the Timken Company or Timken) brought this class action on behalf of themselves and all similarly situated employees in the Columbus, Ohio, plant of Timken.
