The rights and obligations of members of the Teachers’ Retirement Association of the City of New York are defined in Title B of Chapter 20 of the Administrative Code of the City of New York (L. 1937, ch. 929), and the Retirement System must be administered in accordance with the provisions of that title. “ All teachers ” are “ members ” of the Teachers’ Retirement Association and as “ members ” of the association are “contributors”; a “beneficiary” means a “ person in receipt of a pension, an annuity, a retirement allowance, or other benefit ”.
