In this action, Queensboro Steel Corporation (Queensboro) asserted a materialman’s lien on funds owing from Cives Steel Company (Cives) to East Coast Machine & Iron Works, Inc. (East Coast) for steel supplied originally by Queensboro. Branch Banking and Trust Company (Branch Banking) sought to enforce a security interest in the accounts receivable of East Coast, which included the funds sought by Queensboro.
