RIDDICK, Circuit Judge.
This action was brought by the appellant, Gertrude R. Sulzbacher, to recover upon a policy of accident insurance issued to her husband, Dr. Bruno L. Sulzbacher, in which the appellee, The Travelers Insurance Company, agreed, to the extent and subject to conditions provided in the policy, to indemnify the insured against loss resulting from bodily injuries effected directly and independently of all other causes, through external, violent, and accidental means.
