In December, 1891, the “Pulitzer Publishing Company,” one of the defendants herein, was incorporated under the laws of the State of Missouri, which provide for the organization of business corporations. The capital stock of the company is $1,000,000, divided into ten thousand shares of $100 each.

The principal property of this corporation consisted of a daily newspaper published in the city of St. Louis, known as the Post-Dispatch. This paper was established years before by Joseph Pulitzer, who at the time of the incorporation was practically the sole owner. *14The said Pulitzer was an…
