OPINION

McKEAGUE, Circuit Judge.

Petitioner Moses Williams, a Michigan state prisoner convicted of second degree murder, appeals from the denial of his petition for writ of habeas corpus. One issue has been certified for appeal: whether the state trial court impermissibly infringed Williams’ Sixth Amendment right to present a defense when it disallowed testimony of a putative alibi witness because Williams failed to give timely notice of his alibi defense.
