Joseph and Adrienne Gallien moved into their “dream home” but later, motivated in part by a pending foreclosure action against the house, brought suit against several entities involved in the Galliens’ purchase of the home. There, the dream ended and a procedural nightmare began. At first glance, the Galliens’ appeal appears to center on a summary judgment rendered against them. 1 But the procedural mechanisms employed before that summary judgment complicate the review of the trial court’s disposition and make the appeal less of a summary judgment case…
